Spreads and commission
Your cost per trade is the spread plus any commission. Comparing quoted spreads alone misreads the real difference between account types.
What the spread is
The gap between the bid and the ask. If USDJPY is offered at 150.013 and bid at 150.000, the spread is 1.3 pips. Every position opens that far underwater.
Compare round trips
STANDARD and micro carry no commission and spreads from 1.3 pips. PRO has spreads from 0.2 pips plus 5 USD per lot round turn. On one lot that is roughly 1,300 JPY on STANDARD against about 200 JPY plus 5 USD on PRO — near 950 JPY.

Frequency decides it
A few hundred yen per trade becomes tens of thousands a month at ten round trips a day. Trade rarely and the commission-free account is simpler; trade often and PRO wins.
Spreads are not fixed
They widen right after economic releases and in thin hours. The quoted figure is a minimum, not an average.
