Orders divide into buying at the current price and waiting for a price you name. Using both means your stop and target sit in the market without you watching it.
Fills immediately at the price available. Certain to execute, but in fast conditions the fill can differ from what you saw.
Names a better price than the current one and waits: below the market to buy, above it to sell. If the price never arrives, nothing fills.
Names a worse price than the current one. Used for stop losses, and also to buy once price breaks past a level.
A stop loss and a take profit can be attached when the position is opened. Set beforehand, they remove the moment where you would otherwise revise the plan mid-move.
A stop and a target can both be attached when the position is opened.
