A lot is the unit of trade size. One lot is not the same number of units on every account type, so the same size produces different P&L.
STANDARD and PRO: one lot is 100,000 units. Micro: one lot is 1,000 units. The minimum size on both is 0.01 lots — 1,000 units on STANDARD and PRO, 10 units on micro.
The same word, one lot, covers a hundredfold difference in units — and in what a pip is worth.
On USDJPY, one pip is 1,000 JPY on 100,000 units and 10 JPY on 1,000 units. Starting at 0.01 lots lets you feel the movement at a small figure.
One lot of USDJPY at 150.00 is a 15,000,000 JPY position. At 1000:1 that needs 15,000 JPY of margin; 0.1 lots needs a tenth of it.
A micro account moves in 10-unit steps, which makes it the right place to check how orders and closes actually behave with real money.
